Labor schedule - Prep

To ensure optimal shift allocation, some settings must be configured. The better the settings are configured, the less work will be required when creating the staff schedule.

  1. Check general settings: opening hours, address, etc.

Local Settings → General

The location must be correct for the weather forecast to work. The opening hours are crucial for staff scheduling.

  1. Create / check / correct MEO and minimum staffing

Local Settings → Planning → MEO / Minimum Staffing

The MEO and minimum staffing have a central influence on the number of shift proposals. The MEO is sales-oriented. The minimum staffing is based on the employee demand when no sales are generated for each hour. Check whether the MEO and minimum staffing are correct. If you do not have the permissions, contact your supervisor.

  1. Make / check / correct shift settings

Local Settings → Automatic Staff Scheduling → Expand Positions

Are the shift lengths appropriate? Are the weightings correct? You can adjust the shift lengths if necessary by moving the minimum and maximum lengths of the shifts.

  1. Check master data: availability, qualifications, contract data

Employees → Master Data → Availability / Qualifications / Contract Data

Are the employees correctly set up and are the qualifications maintained? The better the qualifications and availability are maintained, the better Nesto can assign employees.

If qualifications and availability are not stored, Nesto will not schedule these employees. For the qualification level, a qualification of at least 3 should be selected so that the employee is scheduled often enough.
