Newsletter dated 26.08.2024

In our newsletter today, we would like to show you how to use our newest planning view, the “Mitarbeiterplaner” (employee planner), to finalize your duty roster even better and faster in Nesto. In particular, we will highlight some special features of the Mitarbeiterplaner. The most important innovation compared to the other planning views is the focus on the distribution of Arbeitseinsätze (shifts) and absences across your employees. This enables a quick overview of the employees’ Arbeitseinsätze as well as their “days off”:

Familiar functionalities in the new view

First of all, it is important to emphasize that the basic functionalities of the Monatsplaner (monthly planner) can also be found in the Mitarbeiterplaner. For example, the automatic planning assistant can also be started via the Mitarbeiterplaner, as well as removing employees, deleting unassigned Schichten (shifts), posting shifts, printing duty rosters, and releasing the duty roster. Additionally, the list of your employees is available on the left side of the planner. The most important key figures for optimizing staff scheduling are also an integral part of the Mitarbeiterplaner. Above the individual days in the Mitarbeiterplaner, you will find the forecast provided by Nesto for determining personnel requirements, the currently planned Produktivität (productivity), the planned Personalkostenquote (personnel cost ratio), as well as the deployed employee hours compared to the forecasted employee hours.

Special features in the Mitarbeiterplaner

Below, we would like to introduce additional functionalities and special features of the Mitarbeiterplaner:

  1. Viewing long-term absences directly in the planner

In the Mitarbeiterplaner, days on which an employee is not available for work are explicitly displayed. This ensures at a glance whether an employee is generally available on certain days or has reported an absence. Different types of absences (e.g., sick leave, vacation) are represented with separate symbols.

  1. Assigning employees to individually suitable Schichten (shifts)

The Mitarbeiterplaner allows you to plan the duty roster along the lines of employees, their Verfügbarkeiten (availability), and Kompetenzen (qualifications), or to optimize an existing duty roster. To make this assignment, only the Schichten in which the employee is available can be selected for each employee.

As shown in the view, initially only the free Schichten of the employee’s Hauptkompetenz (main qualification) are displayed. If a shift for another Station (position) is to be selected, this can be adjusted via the selection field. Additionally, new Schichten can be created for the employee, which means the Mitarbeiterplaner can also be used for manual adjustments of duty rosters.

Summary

The Mitarbeiterplaner offers a new perspective on staff scheduling with Nesto. With the view oriented by employees, it is now much easier to assess at the employee level whether the duty roster has been optimally created in its current form. The additional functionalities of the Mitarbeiterplaner allow you to quickly determine whether absences already exist for employees and to find suitable Schichten for individual employees.

I hope this brief introduction has helped you understand the advantages of the Mitarbeiterplaner and I look forward to it supporting you in creating your duty rosters even better and faster!

Best regards,

Your Konstantin
