Automatic planning

Under the local settings, the shift proposals can be generated. The Nesto AI generates new shift proposals every night based on the forecasts. However, if manual shifts have been created in the meantime, it makes sense to regenerate the shift proposals immediately instead of waiting for the nightly run. The AI now plans the demand including the manually created (series) shifts, thus preventing overstaffing. Already assigned shifts are not overwritten.

How are the shift shells created?

Generate new shift shells by going to “Local Settings” → “Automatic Staff Scheduling.”

Once the empty shift proposals have been generated, you can fill the shifts with employees using the automatic planning assistant. To do this, go to the Monthly Planner.

Set allowed start and end times for shift proposals

You can set the times within an hour at which shift proposals are allowed to start and end.

Edit shifts

Additionally, the shift lengths can be changed. To do this, you can expand the individual positions and shorten or extend the bars. This function can be used if shifts need to be shortened or extended.

For example, if you have part-time employees or marginally employed workers at the checkout, shorter shifts make sense. In the kitchen, where many full-time employees work, you can schedule longer shifts.

Here you can also check whether automatic shift proposals are generated for the position. You can recognize this by the first green bar.
