Newsletter dated 16.09.2024

In our newsletter today, we would like to inform you about exciting product updates and introduce the requirements that Nesto needs to reliably plan your staff schedule.

Product Update

We are continuously working to improve our product. Sometimes, it’s the small things that make a big difference!

When calculating the key figure productivity, only the working hours at operational stations are taken into account. You can find this key figure in the results evaluation and benchmarking.
To make the calculation easier to understand, we now display these hours separately in the recorded working times.

Go to the view “Erfasste Arbeitszeiten” (Recorded Working Times):

At the bottom right, you can now see that there are a total of 13 working hours (excluding breaks), of which 9 hours were worked at operational stations.

Whether a station is operational is defined in the local settings under planning. In the example above, the station Management is marked as “not operational.”

Demand Types in Nesto

The MEO (Mitarbeitereinsatzorientierung – staff deployment orientation) is the central element that enables Nesto to calculate your personnel requirements as precisely as possible based on sales forecasts. This demand, in turn, has a major influence on the creation of the staff schedule.

In the MEO, you define how many employees are required for a certain sales volume per station. The required number of employees depends on various factors, such as how long your employees’ walking distances are or how long individual work steps take. This also means: the higher the sales, the more personnel is needed.
Please note that the sales corridors in the MEO represent hourly sales.

Another important factor for creating the staff schedule is the minimum staffing level, which is also stored in the local settings. This is especially important during off-peak hours to ensure that preparatory or follow-up tasks can be completed regardless of sales.

If the personnel requirement determined by the MEO based on the forecasted sales is higher than the minimum staffing level, Nesto will always consider the higher personnel requirement.
